About This Role

This Registered Nurse role coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in the Surgical ICU. The RN uses established nursing models to provide individualized and comprehensive care, acting as an advocate for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver high quality, patient-centered care consistent with scope and standards of practice
  • Provide individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage" models
  • Serve as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s)
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record
  • Teach patients/families/caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures
  • Teach patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures like diet and exercise
  • Manage evidence-based practices and continuous process improvement initiatives
  • Manage the quality of care by collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Associate Degree
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
