This role supervises personnel in Hospital access services, ensuring smooth daily operations by coordinating efforts across clinical, administrative, and support staff. The supervisor focuses on billing, registration, and admitting processes, maintaining compliance and customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise personnel responsible for daily operations concerning Hospital access services departments/programs
- Coordinate efforts among clinical personnel, case managers, administrative, and support staff
- Promote Patient Access Services department goals by selecting, motivating, and training team members
- Lead activities of assigned Patient Access team members by communicating and providing guidance toward achieving department objectives
- Oversee the department’s day-to-day operations related to Hospital billing, registration, admitting, and office management
- Supervise, hire, train, discipline, and evaluate the performance of staff; ensure performance appraisals are completed timely
- Analyze, recommend, implement, and monitor approved work-flow changes
- Process payroll, maintaining employee records and work schedules while ensuring adequate coverage
- Work with clinical personnel in obtaining authorizations and contacting insurance companies as needed
- Ensure compliance with regulations pertaining to completion and filing of death certificates and termination certificates
- Maintain daily workflow to expedite processing while ensuring quality, accuracy, and customer service
- Monitor inpatient and outpatient registrations for quality assurance
- Respond to concerns of patients, families, physicians, and staff
- Recommend procedural and system changes to improve operational quality and efficiency; actively participate in process improvement projects
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
- 4-6 years of relevant experience
- 0-2 years of leadership/management experience
