Nurse Attendant

About This Role

Assist Registered Nurses in providing basic nursing care to patients, including daily living activities, maintaining a safe environment, and documenting patient status.

Responsibilities

• Organize patient care assignment and set priorities
• Alert RN to changes in patient status (comfort, skin integrity, breathing pattern)
• Document patient care and status changes
• Communicate routine information to RN during shift
• Assist RN with activities of daily living (ADL) needs of patients
• Prepare patients for meals, feed or assist with meals, and provide nourishment
• Bathe or assist patient to bathe and provide oral hygiene
• Maintain patient's mobility with range of motion exercises and ambulation
• Clean and prepare patient care units and rooms
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of Nurse Assistant course or equivalent OR Prior experience as a Nursing Attendant or equivalent
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to work in diversified settings
• Ability to lift, turn, position, etc. patients

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Completion of Nurse Assistant course or equivalent
• Prior experience as a Nursing Attendant or equivalent, required. Completion of Nurse Assistant course or equivalent, required.
