Supervisor, Clinical Laboratory Operations - Histology

About This Role

Supervise and coordinate staff and daily activities within a clinical laboratory, specifically in Histology. Drive operational performance, manage staffing, ensure compliance, and maintain quality control and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Promote department goals by selecting, motivating, and training capable team members.
• Lead activities of assigned team members by communicating and guiding toward department objectives.
• Supervise, hire, train, discipline, and evaluate the performance of staff.
• Ensure performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
• Prioritize, schedule, assign, and monitor work to optimize operational performance.
• Coordinate staffing, material requirements, and equipment needs.
• Analyze, recommend, implement, and monitor approved workflow changes, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement System/Department policies and government regulations, and monitor compliance.
• Maintain quality control activities and records.
• Ensure maintenance and calibration of equipment for proper functioning.
• Assist with preparation of and compliance with the approved operating budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Current License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York State
• 4 years of technical experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• 4 years of technical experience, required and 0-2 years of leadership / management experience, preferred OR Master's Degree with 2 years of technical Experience
