About This Role

Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Blood Bank / Transfusion Service, ensuring safe, accurate, and timely provision of blood and blood components, while providing technical leadership and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the Blood Bank / Transfusion Service
• Ensure safe, accurate, and timely provision of blood and blood components
• Provide technical leadership to staff
• Oversee staff supervision
• Maintain regulatory compliance in accordance with AABB, CAP, CLIA, FDA, and hospital policies
• Supervise duties related to record documentation
• Consult with Medical Director and Administrative Director on regulatory compliance updates
• Participate in the administrative and budgetary operations of the section

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Medical Technologist
• Meets requirements for qualification of laboratory supervisor as stated by the State of New Jersey and CAP accreditation guidelines
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as a general supervisor

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Medical Technology degree
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a Medical Technologist
