Registered Nurse Operating Room

About This Role

Provide comprehensive nursing care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and adherence to regulatory standards at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. This role requires clinical expertise, strong communication, and teamwork to support the surgical team.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards
• Assure awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics
• Assure safety in practice and include principles of evidence-based practice
• Maintain a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience
• Assume responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication and utilizing resource persons and programs
• Report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors
• Take responsibility for knowledge of the patient population served
• Supervise and direct the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members
• Collaborate with other patient care providers
• Consistently set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement
• Utilize the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualize the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs

Requirements

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
• BLS from the American Heart Association

Qualifications

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• Minimum 1 year of hospital experience preferred
