Superintendent

About This Role

The Superintendent for Ledcor will oversee day-to-day field operations for large-scale fiber to the home projects, developing project plans, monitoring performance, and ensuring projects meet approved plans and specifications. This role acts as an expert, anticipating client needs and mentoring colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
• Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs
• Oversee incident investigations
• Review and update construction schedules, addressing delays and contributing to project schedules
• Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects
• Report and track financial aspects of the project
• Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement, and negotiations
• Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff

Requirements

• Three to five years of experience as a Telecommunications Construction Superintendent
• Knowledge of underground and aerial fiber installation
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
• Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
• 3-5 years of experience as a Telecommunications Construction Superintendent
