Field Construction Manager

About This Role

Oversee day-to-day field operations, develop project plans, and monitor performance for a large-scale fiber to the home deployment project in central Illinois. Lead technical discussions and mentor project staff to ensure projects meet approved plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
• Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs
• Oversee incident investigations
• Review and update construction schedules, addressing delays
• Contribute to project schedules
• Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects
• Report and track financial aspects of the project
• Participate in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations
• Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team
• Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents

Requirements

• 3+ years experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
• Experience in aerial fiber construction
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
• Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
• Three or more years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
