This internship provides an opportunity to support the Constituent and Media Services department with communication efforts, writing various materials, and participating in county communication campaigns. Interns will gain valuable experience in public administration and government communication.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Digital and Media Relations Manager on various projects
- Write news releases, media advisories, social media posts, talking points, and web content
- Work on county communications campaigns
- Attend community meetings or events as needed
- Conduct research and fact-check information
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student
- Minimum GPA of at least 2.8
- Ability to participate in the full 10-week program (May 26, 2026 to July 30, 2026)
- Commitment to public service
- Genuine interest in learning about public administration
- Studying for a degree in journalism, mass communications or marketing
- Interest in government communication
- Good writing skills
- Ability to write for a variety of different audiences and materials
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Team player skills
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, studying for a degree in journalism, mass communications or marketing
