Supervise, train, and evaluate custodial staff to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of public buildings and facilities for Chesterfield County. This role involves planning work assignments, managing schedules, and coordinating custodial operations for special events.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and evaluate the work of supervisory and non-supervisory custodial staff
- Plan and manage work assignments, projects, and shift schedules for custodial operations
- Develop, update, and evaluate work and safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Instruct and oversee staff training in safety methods, cleaning techniques, and equipment use
- Inspect buildings and facilities to monitor work performance and identify problem areas, taking corrective action
- Review and evaluate service requests related to custodial activities
- Supervise, requisition, and maintain inventory of janitorial supplies, materials, and equipment
- Coordinate, plan, organize, schedule, and supervise custodial operations for special events
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years of experience in custodial work
- 1 year of supervisory experience
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including walking, standing, squatting, stooping, bending, twisting, stretching, crawling, reaching overhead
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Four years of experience in custodial work, including one year of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
