Substance Use Counselor

About This Role

Assist patients with opioid addiction through medically assisted programs, conducting individual and group therapy sessions, evaluating progress, and collaborating with medical professionals for comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination
• Involve families and significant others in patient’s recovery process whenever possible
• Facilitate, establish, and review with each patient the initial treatment plan
• Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans

Requirements

• Certification or license (ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, LCPC, LCSW, LGADC or LCADC) from the State of Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
• Satisfactory criminal background check
• Satisfactory drug screen
