About This Role

This role involves counseling clients and guiding them on their path to recovery from addiction through virtual and in-person sessions. You will facilitate group therapy, provide one-on-one counseling, and maintain clinical progress notes for the clients served.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and communicate the core values of Better Life Partners
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions for clients
  • Utilize evidence-based curriculum guides and training
  • Provide detailed feedback and maintain clinical progress notes on clients
  • Counsel one-on-one with clients when necessary
  • Participate in Better Life Partners' community research and public health partners' data collection efforts
  • Formulate and maintain treatment plans for each client served
  • Collaborate with community partners and providers on case management and care coordination efforts
  • Adhere to professional and ethical work standards, enforcing appropriate counselor/client boundaries
  • Manage group dynamics and problem behavior with professional judgment
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for licensing and billing purposes
  • Attend and engage in regular training, company meetings, and supervision

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in mental health, social work, psychology, addictions or related field
  • NC license as LCAS
  • 2-3 years of experience working with substance use or related field

Nice to Have

  • Demonstrated experience leading groups therapy sessions, interacting, engaging, and connecting with individuals and groups over telehealth/zoom
  • Comfortable working with an EMR and/or EHR system, including updating clinical notes
  • Willingness to travel locally within the communities we serve
  • Ability to work 1-2 evenings a week
  • Valid driver’s license
