About This Role

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for performing task-based sterile processing activities, including decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation and delivery of surgical case carts, to ensure accurate and complete surgical supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate surgical instrumentation
  • Assemble surgical instrumentation including various software applications
  • Sterilize surgical instrumentation
  • Assemble and deliver surgical and interventional procedure case carts
  • Perform paring and replenishment of materials
  • Collaborate with surgical partners to provide accurate and complete surgical instrumentation and needed supplies

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a formal Sterile Processing Technician course with field training OR 1 year of experience as Sterile Processing Technician or Operating Technician
  • Must be certified with IAHCSMM or CBSPD within 18 months

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED. Completion of a formal Sterile Processing Technician course with field training or 1 year of experience as Sterile Processing Technician or Operating Technician.
  • 1 year of experience as Sterile Processing Technician or Operating Technician preferred.

Nice to Have

  • 1 year as sterile processing technician with completion of formal sterile processing technician course
  • Current certification through internationally recognized organizations such as IAHCSMM or Certification Board for Central Sterile Processing

Certifications
