About This Role

The Sterile Processing Technician 1 performs duties related to cleaning, sterilization, processing, organizing, and distributing patient equipment, instruments, supplies, and products within a healthcare setting. This role is essential for patient care and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare rooms and organize instruments, equipment, treatment trays, and supplies for specified departments.
• Clean and decontaminate instruments, containers, and patient equipment using detergents and disinfectant solutions.
• Operate semi-automatic and automatic sterilization equipment and washers.
• Receive, stock, rotate, check, and pull expired goods; fill and distribute internal orders; and pick up reusable trays, equipment items, and instruments.
• Maintain and control inventory, including applicable records and files.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, manufacturer, and infection control practices.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience
• H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Ability to comply with safety, environmental, manufacturer and infection control practices
• Interpersonal and communications skills

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
