OR Scheduling Coordinator 2

About This Role

The OR Scheduling Coordinator 2 manages the master Operating Room schedule and Anesthesiology coverage, ensuring efficient scheduling of surgical patients and coordinating with various hospital departments. This role involves maintaining accurate records and communication to support surgical services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the master OR schedule and Anesthesiology coverage
• Schedule surgical patients when necessary
• Assist other hospital departments in scheduling surgical time
• Relay patient information to Surgical Services and the Day Surgery Unit staff
• Make changes to the schedule and contact appropriate departments
• Maintain access security to the surgical scheduling systems
• Provide scheduling help to ensure department efficiency, answering and screening phone calls promptly and courteously
• Coordinate changes, postponements, and cancellations with physicians and Surgical Services
• Monitor surgeon lineup for next day surgeries and revise as needed
• Assemble, print, and distribute a complete and accurate operating room schedule

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• 3 years of experience
• Good listening and communication skills with professional and respectful telephone etiquette
• Ability to operate basic office equipment (e.g., computer, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone)
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Excellent data entry, numeric, typing and computer navigation skills
• Ability to demonstrate precision and flexibility

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• 3 Years of Experience

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in health care revenue cycle
