About This Role

The Lead Barista ensures excellent customer service by preparing quality coffee selections and maintaining department standards. This role involves supervising personnel, managing inventory, and executing Starbucks programs while upholding company values.

Responsibilities

• Increase sales through effective marketing and merchandising of products in the department
• Assist in supervision and direction of department personnel to ensure quality customer service
• Delegate job assignments and responsibilities to associates in accordance with duty rosters
• Order and maintain stock and supplies, monitoring conditions and appearance throughout the department
• Monitor code dates and product rotation, removing out of code product
• Hold personnel in department accountable for their job assignments and responsibilities
• Write department schedules, coordinating requests and bids and business needs
• Assist customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales
• Maintain customer service area and equipment in a clean and appealing manner
• Prepare a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and Coffee of the Day

Requirements

• Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Able to calmly, courteously, and tactfully handle stressful situations
• Trained and certified barista
