Staff Pharmacist

About This Role

As a Staff Pharmacist, you will lead and support pharmacy operations, ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, actively engaging in patient care including immunizations and counseling, and coaching the pharmacy team to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Oversee the pharmacy as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts, strengthening performance measures through coaching and follow-up.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team on workflow procedures.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care, coaching the team, and proactively resolving issues.
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize.
• Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching on best practices, protecting cold chain products.
• Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and escalate issues.
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe and inclusive team dynamic.
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge and support patients.
• Support access to care and improved patient outcomes through pharmacist delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services.
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.

Requirements

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
• Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
• Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time
• Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs
• Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety
• Ability to use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
• Ability to utilize active listening
• Ability to use math to solve a problem
• Ability to identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action
• Ability to be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift, scan, and bag items

• Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions to place, move, or lift items

Nice to Have

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
