Staff Pharmacist

About This Role

This Staff Pharmacist position contributes to patient health by ensuring safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. The role supports the Pharmacy Manager by overseeing pharmacy operations, coaching team members, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
• Oversee the pharmacy as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts, including strengthening performance measures through effective coaching and follow-up
• Assume Pharmacy Manager's day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, demonstrating compassionate care, and resolving insurance/medication issues
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
• Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the pharmacy team on best practices, especially for cold chain products
• Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, including company-required trainings and CMEs, and seek opportunities to expand knowledge
• Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing services)
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles

Requirements

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

Nice to Have

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
