Staff Pharmacist

About This Role

This role involves supporting the Pharmacy Manager in leading the pharmacy team, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
• Oversee the pharmacy as a proxy to the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts, strengthening pharmacy performance measures
• Assume Pharmacy Manager's day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team on workflow procedures and safety guardrails
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, care, and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
• Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the pharmacy team on best practices, protecting cold chain products
• Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge
• Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services
• Comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS Health policies

Requirements

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
• Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends

Nice to Have

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
