About This Role

The Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health plays a critical role in managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunization practices. This role involves overseeing pharmacy operations, supporting the pharmacy team, and ensuring compliance with regulations, while prioritizing patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Oversee the pharmacy as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts, ensuring effective coaching and performance follow-up of pharmacy team members.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by adhering to pharmacy workflow procedures and utilizing safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care, and proactively resolving insurance and/or medication issues.
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations and support Pharmacy Technicians in learning to immunize.
• Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following all inventory best practices, with a focus on protecting cold chain products.
• Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills through continuous education and actively seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients.
• Support access to care and help improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care (e.g., testing and prescribing services) where permissible.
• Comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS Health policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

Nice to Have

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
