Staff Pharmacist

About This Role

This Staff Pharmacist role contributes to a compassionate health experience within CVS Health by managing and improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunization practices. You will support the Pharmacy Manager in overseeing all operational aspects of the pharmacy, while fostering a culture of excellence and empathetic patient care.

Responsibilities

• Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Oversee the pharmacy as the Pharmacy Manager's proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
• Strengthen pharmacy performance measures through effective coaching and consistent follow-up of pharmacy team members.
• Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the pharmacy team.
• Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
• Support the effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the pharmacy team on best practices.
• Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations are compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
• Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients.
• Support access to care and help improve patient outcomes through pharmacist delivered clinical care.
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.

Requirements

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list

Nice to Have

• 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
