About This Role

As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be a critical leader in the pharmacy, ensuring the safe and appropriate dispensing of prescriptions, counseling patients, and administering immunizations. You will support the Pharmacy Manager in daily operations, demonstrate genuine patient care, and serve as a role model for the pharmacy team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
  • Oversee the pharmacy during bench shifts without overlap, strengthening performance measures through effective coaching and consistent follow-up of team members
  • Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and utilize safety guardrails
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same
  • Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; engage and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
  • Support the effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the pharmacy team to follow all inventory best practices
  • Partner with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure pharmacy operations are compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
  • Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
  • Support access to care and help improve patient outcomes through pharmacist delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles

Requirements

  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: ability to concentrate on a task, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information and label accuracy
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: actively look for ways to help people, understand patients’ reactions
  • Communication Skills: use and understand verbal and written communication, utilize active listening
  • Mathematical Reasoning: ability to use math to solve problems (e.g., determining quantities, day’s supply)
  • Issue Resolution: identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing best course of action
  • Physical Demands: mobile and remain upright for extended periods, lift, scan, bag items, reach overhead, move fingers repetitively, extend hands/arms, control precision, stoop, close visual acuity, occasionally lift up to 20 lbs

Nice to Have

  • 1-2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in other locations across the market as business needs require
