About This Role

Lead the development of new manufacturing processes and technologies, and drive continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma programs at Shockwave Medical, a Johnson & Johnson MedTech company.

Responsibilities

  • Implement operational excellence tools and strategies for new product manufacturing process development
  • Lead waste-reduction and improvement initiatives on commercial product portfolio
  • Lead process development projects using Industrial Engineering and Design Excellence concepts
  • Lead engineering problem solving and process improvement projects using best practices
  • Collaborate with New Product Development team to design manufacturing processes that meet customer demand and financial effectiveness
  • Work with operations teams to identify projects, assess feasibility, and implement solutions
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and drive value opportunities and ensure resolution of production and operation challenges
  • Review processes and identify/implement opportunities for improvements using Lean Six Sigma concepts & tools
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improve cost performance
  • Collect and analyze process performance indicators to ensure business efficiency and quality
  • Communicate project status and issues to the organization in a timely manner
  • Identify potential operational risks and support development of mitigation strategies
  • Support deployment of holistic operational excellence program for Shockwave Medical
  • Coach Design excellence and Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to analyze data and drive process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in the medical device industry or 5+ years leading Operational Excellence initiatives
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent
  • Strong background in holistic operational excellence structures and associated tools/techniques
  • Knowledge of and compliance with applicable Quality System requirements (e.g., QSRs, ISO and MDD requirements)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline (Industrial Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ of demonstrated experience in the medical device industry or at least 5 years leading Operational Excellence initiatives.

  • Project Management experience or PM Certified
