About This Role

Lead the development of new manufacturing processes and technologies, and drive continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma programs at Shockwave Medical, a Johnson & Johnson MedTech company.

Responsibilities

Implement operational excellence tools and strategies for new product manufacturing process development
Lead waste-reduction and improvement initiatives on commercial product portfolio
Lead process development projects using Industrial Engineering and Design Excellence concepts
Lead engineering problem solving and process improvement projects using best practices
Collaborate with New Product Development team to design manufacturing processes that meet customer demand and financial effectiveness
Work with operations teams to identify projects, assess feasibility, and implement solutions
Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and drive value opportunities and ensure resolution of production and operation challenges
Review processes and identify/implement opportunities for improvements using Lean Six Sigma concepts & tools
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improve cost performance
Collect and analyze process performance indicators to ensure business efficiency and quality
Communicate project status and issues to the organization in a timely manner
Identify potential operational risks and support development of mitigation strategies
Support deployment of holistic operational excellence program for Shockwave Medical
Coach Design excellence and Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques to analyze data and drive process improvements

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
8+ years of experience in the medical device industry or 5+ years leading Operational Excellence initiatives
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent
Strong background in holistic operational excellence structures and associated tools/techniques
Knowledge of and compliance with applicable Quality System requirements (e.g., QSRs, ISO and MDD requirements)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline (Industrial Engineering preferred)
Minimum of eight (8) years’ of demonstrated experience in the medical device industry or at least 5 years leading Operational Excellence initiatives.
