About This Role

This role supports clients and patients in the Mobile, AL territory, focusing on cardiovascular solutions for heart recovery, electrophysiology, and stroke. It involves training and educating medical teams on the proper use of Impella devices to improve patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Train, educate, and support combined CT/Heart Failure programs on the proper use of the Impella devices
  • Ensure full customer immersion (patient selection and surgical support) within 5.5 sites for optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide device expertise and support on Impella to assist with the adoption of the full portfolio
  • Plan for surgical implant and unit support readiness, including training and education at existing sites
  • Collaborate internally with Surgical Leadership Team, Training Team, Engineering Team, Marketing, Professional Education, Clinical, and R&D
  • Participate in On Call support rotation
  • Maintain contact with all customers to evaluate clinical and educational needs
  • Perform device training on the full Impella Device line-up
  • Act as a functional expert providing advanced acumen on durable, acute, and hemodynamic medical device landscape and best practices
  • Cultivate close relationships with strategic business partners and key opinion leaders

Requirements

  • 5+ years direct patient care in cardiac transplant, ECMO or LVAD center CVICU or direct (at the table) experience in CVOR (if Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree)
  • 3+ years direct patient support in cardiac transplant, ECMO or LVAD center CVICU or CVOR (if advanced degree)
  • Direct patient management experience (not Abiomed field clinical) in Cardiothoracic ICU caring for post-op tMCS (Impella, CentriMag, ECMO) or Durable MCS (HeartMate, HeartWare, Berlin Heart) OR Direct experience assisting in the CVOR
  • Confidence, expertise and familiarity of cardiac surgery and OR protocol
  • Willingness to travel
  • Availability to take call for emergent patient care
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Valid driver's license issued in the United States
  • Ability to conduct duties in accordance with all state and federal laws and regulations governing the medical device industry

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree or Advanced degree
  • 5+ years of direct patient care in a cardiac transplant, ECMO or LVAD center CVICU or direct (at the table) experience in CVOR if Bachelor's degree; 3+ years if advanced degree

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree: Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), Surgical Physician’s Assistant (PA), Critical Care Physician’s Assistant (PA) or Perfusionist licensure
  • Direct (at the table) experience in Cardiac Surgery/Perfusion, 5+ years preferred
  • Hands on Impella support experience strongly preferred
  • ECMO patient care experience
  • Experience delivering clinical demonstrations and successful trainings
  • Ability to advance sales process with customers
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to advocate with physicians
