Staff Nurse NICU

About This Role

The Staff Nurse NICU delivers specialized nursing care to patients by applying biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing science principles. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and directing patient care with a focus on family-centered approaches.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care with a focus on family-centered care for individuals or groups of patients within the assigned scope of practice.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients regardless of age and developmental status.
• Perform leadership and professional duties including precepting new employees and acting as a mentor.
• Perform patient-centered care duties and actively promote collaboration for efficient operation and quality care.
• Perform quality improvement, safety, evidence-based practice, systems-based practice, and informatics and technology duties.

Requirements

• BSN Degree or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure to prioritize and complete tasks timely and accurately
• Experience working with various levels within an organization
• Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required or must be obtained within 5 years from date of hire.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience is preferred.

Nice to Have

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare
• Experience working an electronic medical record system (i.e. EPIC) or similar software
