About This Role

The Staff Development Coordinator/IP (RN) is responsible for ensuring compliance training and ongoing education for all employees, particularly clinical staff, to maintain quality care and adhere to state, federal, and accreditation requirements. This role drives competency evaluation and professional development within the Avamere facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures employees receive compliance training and education according to the Avamere Code of Business Conduct.
  • Oversees competency evaluation for new clinical personnel and recommends progression or extension of orientation.
  • Plans, organizes, and implements ongoing education and training programs for licensed nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary staff.
  • Conducts or coordinates certification programs for Nursing Assistants.
  • Performs needs assessments to identify educational requirements for staff.
  • Provides clinical and classroom instruction, along with on-the-job coaching.
  • Coordinates and/or conducts CPR training for personnel.
  • Ensures clinical competency of nursing staff through observed skills evaluation and annual competency assessments.
  • Develops, facilitates, and maintains orientation programs for all facility personnel.
  • Maintains organized records of continuing education for each employee.

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Washington or multi-state compact license
  • 3+ years of nursing experience
  • 1+ year in a long-term care environment
  • Active CPR/BLS Certification
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, RN required
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience, of which one (1) year was in a long-term care environment.

  • 1 year SNF Nurse Manager experience
  • CPR teaching certificate
  • IV Instructor Certification
  • Certified Infection Control Nurse
  • ACLS certification
