About This Role

The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities for a growing, multi-entity healthcare organization, maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance. This role offers meaningful exposure to healthcare accounting, audits, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate general ledger entries for revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including bank accounts and key clearing accounts.
  • Support the monthly close process by preparing schedules, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Review and process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and timely payment.
  • Support accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, cash application, and collections follow-up.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist with tax compliance activities, including sales tax, payroll tax, and income tax support.
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor requests during financial and operational audits.
  • Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support operational needs.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP or IFRS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a similar role

Nice to Have

  • Understanding of tax regulations and compliance
  • CPA or progress toward CPA certification
