This role involves developing and implementing data science strategies, leveraging advanced analytical skills to convert raw data into actionable business insights, and creating and deploying data science solutions for product performance, quality systems, and regulatory compliance within a global medical technology company.
Responsibilities
- Develop and complete a data science strategy aligned with Central Quality’s goals
- Understand business problems and design end-to-end data science use cases with business case analysis
- Lead the deployment of Databricks ML OPS environment for Central Quality
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify data-driven improvements and efficiencies within Quality and business units
- Stay up to date with emerging data and analytics technologies, recommending tools or platforms
- Collaborate across functions to understand data, IT, and business constraints
- Collaborate with developers to implement and deploy scalable visualization solutions
- Establish best data operational practices and maintain compliance requirements
- Establish the monitoring of data science models in production
- Apply strong expertise in data science to design, prototype, and build next-generation analytics engines and services
- Increase Data Literacy by guiding the organization on the business potential and strategy of AI/data science
- Actively network with domain experts to better understand business mechanics
- Train and coach other business and IT staff on basic data science principles and techniques
- Promote collaboration and knowledge exchange with other data science teams within and outside BD
- Provide thought leadership by researching best practices, conducting experiments, and collaborating with industry leaders
Requirements
- Bachelors' degree in applied mathematics, engineering, or other relevant discipline
- 7 years of relevant work experience in data science
- 5 years in a direct and/or matrixed leadership role in data and analytics
- Experience with a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
- Experience presenting data and analysis to upper management
- Advanced statistical techniques and concepts and experience with applications
- Knowledge of statistical computer languages to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
- Solid working knowledge of Python, R, HQL, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SPARQL, D3JS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in applied mathematics, engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- 7 years of relevant work experience in data science, with 5 years in a direct and/or matrixed leadership role in data and analytics.

- Master's degree in Data Engineering or relevant field
