About This Role

This role involves enhancing professional practice and quality patient care in oncology across assigned hospitals. The Educator will provide evidence-based educational programs to promote professional competency for nursing and clinical staff within the specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and assist with orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention
  • Conduct orientation in a manner that facilitates a positive learning environment
  • Participate in the development, coordination, and management of facilitating, conducting, and evaluating competency
  • Identify learning needs of identified specialty staff through on-site review or metrics
  • Develop activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill, and practice
  • Plan educational content delivery that encourages learner engagement
  • Assess practice gaps
  • Collaborate with the clinical education team members to evaluate and adjust educational programs
  • Participate and provide lifelong learning
  • Utilize novice to expert continuum when developing staff
  • Monitor practices or operations with reference to laws, regulations, guidelines, or industry practices to assess compliance, risk, or exposure

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • 2+ years clinical education experience
  • 3+ years of experience in acute care hospital
  • Currently licensed as appropriate to education in the state of practice
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS)
  • Specialty certification as recognized by the American Nurse Credentialing Center
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing Required, Master's degree in nursing Preferred
  • 2+ years clinical education experience

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in nursing
  • 3+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership
