This role involves enhancing professional practice and quality patient care in oncology across assigned hospitals. The Educator will provide evidence-based educational programs to promote professional competency for nursing and clinical staff within the specialty.
Responsibilities
- Provide and assist with orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention
- Conduct orientation in a manner that facilitates a positive learning environment
- Participate in the development, coordination, and management of facilitating, conducting, and evaluating competency
- Identify learning needs of identified specialty staff through on-site review or metrics
- Develop activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill, and practice
- Plan educational content delivery that encourages learner engagement
- Assess practice gaps
- Collaborate with the clinical education team members to evaluate and adjust educational programs
- Participate and provide lifelong learning
- Utilize novice to expert continuum when developing staff
- Monitor practices or operations with reference to laws, regulations, guidelines, or industry practices to assess compliance, risk, or exposure
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- 2+ years clinical education experience
- 3+ years of experience in acute care hospital
- Currently licensed as appropriate to education in the state of practice
- Basic Life Saving (BLS)
- Specialty certification as recognized by the American Nurse Credentialing Center
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing Required, Master's degree in nursing Preferred
- 2+ years clinical education experience

- Master's degree in nursing
- 3+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership
