Provide direct patient care at the Emergency Medical Technician Defibrillation level for special events, functioning as support to paramedics or nurses during patient transport. Drive vehicles according to special events policy and ensure the safety of all passengers.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care at the Emergency Medical Technician Defibrillation level according to special events protocols and state OEMS guidelines
- Function as a support role to the paramedic or nurse during transport of patients from venue sites
- Assist with packaging, loading, and providing care to the patient at the EMT-D level as directed
- Drive vehicles according to special events policy and state and local law, ensuring the safety of all passengers
- Ensure the entire vehicle is cleaned and restocked after each event and/or patient transport
- Report any safety hazards to the lead paramedic or Assistant Director, or to the MCA charge person if using a MCA ambulance
- Document patient condition and all treatment provided while maintaining patient confidentiality
- Maintain necessary certifications, skills, required continuing education, and mandatory in-services
Requirements
- Current applicable state EMT certification
- BCLS certification
- Current Driver's License
- 1 to 2 years experience with a 911 service as an EMT
Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years experience with a 911 service as an EMT required
