About This Role

This contract position involves teaching K-12 special education students in a collaborative public school environment in Bridgeport, CT. The role focuses on developing and implementing individualized education plans and fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals in resource and self-contained classrooms
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support student development
• Maintain thorough documentation and comply with state and federal special education regulations
• Participate in professional development and school activities as required

Requirements

• Valid Connecticut Educator Certification with Special Education endorsement
• Experience working in special education settings, preferably in elementary and middle school resource or self-contained classrooms
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
