Special Ed Teacher

About This Role

A Special Education Teacher position at an elementary school in Burnsville, MN involves working with Mild/Moderate Special Education students from kindergarten through 5th grade in both push-in and pull-out classroom settings, supporting approximately 7 students with the assistance of two paraprofessionals. This contract role focuses on individualized instruction and IEP management during the current school year.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to each student's unique learning needs.
• Write, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related services staff to support student development.
• Manage classroom activities effectively for grades K-5.
• Track and report student progress to meet academic and behavioral goals.

Requirements

• Valid Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education License in Special Education
• Proven experience or training in developing and implementing IEPs
• Strong knowledge of special education teaching strategies for Mild/Moderate disabilities
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
