Sonographer - General Ultrasound

About This Role

Perform a variety of routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures at a general skill level, including abdominal, retroperitoneal, obstetric, gynecological, small parts, neonatal head, and vascular scans. This role involves assisting with interventional procedures and operating equipment to achieve high-quality images.

Responsibilities

• Perform all ultrasound techniques and examinations including abdominal, retroperitoneal, obstetric, gynecological, small parts, neonatal head, and vascular scans
• Assist with interventional procedures
• Schedule cases to coordinate with other patient examinations
• Position and transfer patients safely and comfortably, explaining basic procedures
• Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis
• Select and operate equipment as needed to perform required exams
• Maintain equipment in efficient operating order and perform preventative maintenance
• Prepare and maintain written documentation as required by the profession and department
• Utilize digital image storage systems such as PACS
• Direct patients to rooms and obtain vitals of patients

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Less than 1 year relevant experience
• Accredited program in ultrasound technology
• Basic Life Support certification
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification (Abdomen, Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, Neurology, OBGYN, Pediatric) OR Registered Vascular Technologist certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Less than 1 year relevant experience
