Occupational Therapist

About This Role

Provide occupational therapy services at an entry to intermediate skills level, evaluating patients and planning individualized therapy programs. Coordinate activities with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to training medical and nursing personnel.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients using evidence-based evaluation techniques
• Plan individualized occupational therapy programs based on physical capacity, intelligence level, and interests/goals
• Provide instructions in therapeutic procedures to be continued by the patient
• Coordinate occupational therapy activities with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate achievement of goals
• Conduct or participate in training medical and nursing personnel in occupational therapy techniques and objectives
• Utilize safe patient handling techniques for all patient transfers, lifts and positioning
• Provide supervision of COTAs and Rehab Aides as required by PA practice act
• Maintain patient records with accurate documentation to support medical necessity and functional abilities
• Ensure the utilization of established policies/procedures, objectives, quality management, safety, environment and infection control standards
• Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs and workshops

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree
• Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy
• Licensed Occupational Therapist
• Basic Life Support certification
• Less than 1 year relevant experience
