The Simulator Technician I supports the Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions (W-TRS) at Fort Benning, GA by performing routine technical tasks on digital range training systems. This role involves replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment, and taking test readings under close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Apply basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions
- Replace components and wire circuits
- Repair simple electronic equipment
- Take test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes
- Adhere to all applicable safety guidelines and installation Standardized Operating Procedures
Requirements
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, and feel
- Ability to read, write, speak, hear and understand English
- Ability to lift and carry items not to exceed 50 lbs
- Physical dexterity for various movements (push/pull, climb/balance, bend/stoop, twist/turn, kneel/crouch, crawl, reach overhead, grasp, use feet for foot controls)
- Ability to stand unaided for eight (8) hours or more
- Ability to acquire a Government Common Access Card (CAC)
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Knowledge of range operations
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work under deadlines
- Experience working with military units
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
