Senior Network Operations Engineer

About This Role

Provide expert-level support for the operational sustainment, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise-wide network infrastructure. Ensure continuous network availability, performance, and compliance for mission-critical operations, modernization efforts, and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and fix legacy wired solutions in response to network faults, errors, incidents, and problems
• Provide touch labor for all network devices
• Oversee monitoring of network assets per SLAs
• Supervise break/fix and maintenance activities
• Ensure maintenance of multiple network enclaves, primarily Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls with other vendor product support
• Lead operational support for routing, switching, firewall, and wireless systems
• Troubleshoot complex problems to closure
• Perform site surveys, configuration and engineering, installation planning, and documentation services for network services
• Analyze network protocols, routing standards and procedures, traffic patterns, and data flow

Requirements

• Multi-disciplined network engineer experience maintaining and fixing legacy wired solutions
• Fundamental understanding of network engineering concepts
• Extensive experience and technical knowledge of both Enterprise and Data Center networks
• Experience with network security technologies
• Experienced working with DMVPN technologies, EIGRP, BGP
• Experience with emerging data center architectures and network automation technologies
• Hands-on technical experience with enterprise network infrastructure
• Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret (Tier 3) level clearance

Qualifications

• Technical BA/BS Degree; Or High School Diploma or Associate Degree
• 7 years with BA/BS Degree, or Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Network Operations Support Engineer for large, complex programs/systems in a Network Operations Center environment with a High School or Associate Degree

Nice to Have

• Experience with DoD IT security requirements
• Experience in utilizing ITSM frameworks
• Experience supporting Department of Air Force (DAF) and local base environments
