Service Technician

About This Role

This Service Technician role directly supports the company's mission by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of wind turbine generators, crucial for producing 100% renewable energy. The role involves maintaining high safety and quality standards, supporting planned and unplanned maintenance, and system upgrades while effectively communicating with site leads and managers. All activities are meticulously documented within Movilizer.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain wind turbine generators and related equipment at the wind farm
• Support 24/7/365 wind farm operations, including rotating shifts, overtime, and on-call duties
• Conduct, support and review safety analyses of energy sources, electrical and mechanical hazards
• Assist in Root Cause Analyses to determine equipment failures
• Complete and maintain accurate documentation for corrective and preventive maintenance
• Perform preventative maintenance activities safely and efficiently on wind turbines and associated equipment
• Utilize appropriate safety gear, protective equipment, and control or dissipation of energy sources
• Maintain tools and equipment properly
• Maintain required training certifications and qualifications
• Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSEA’s, and job-specific documentation
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Use computer skills, including MS Office

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 0-1 year of wind experience
• Ability to be certified to work with medium and high-voltage equipment
• Experience working with hand and power tools
• Ability to move and manipulate up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb vertical ladders and work at heights above 300 feet daily
• Maintain required training certifications
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally for work and training
• Ability to work in various environments and conditions, including confined spaces, adverse and extreme weather
• Meet the weight requirement of 265 lbs or less to safely utilize climbing equipment
• Pass a pre-employment physical
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport
• Valid driver’s license and insurable

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• 0-1 year of wind experience

• Certification or degree in wind, technical, or engineering field
