Service Technician

About This Role

Join John Elway Chevrolet as an experienced Used Car Technician to perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance
• Road test vehicles, and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor regarding additional service needs and provide time estimates for repairs
• Continuously expand knowledge for new technologies and practices
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
• Maintain GM Certification
• Attend training classes as needed

Requirements

• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing vehicles
• Required self-owned scanner tool
• Familiar with all makes and models
• Previous automotive technician experience
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Qualifications

• Previous automotive technician experience required
