This Service Technician role is vital in delivering value to industrial customers by performing preventative maintenance, calibrations, service, repairs, and installations on industrial weighing equipment. The position ensures equipment supports safety, compliance, quality, and performance goals.
Responsibilities
- Recognize and mitigate safety hazards related to specific jobs and tasks
- Obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six months of hire
- Manage all workflow and Service Order (SO) data, including calibration details, asset information, and timekeeping
- Perform calibrations and preventative maintenance on industrial scales and weighing equipment, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Listen to customer feedback to align on expectations and successfully complete service
- Communicate clearly with customers, detailing service action plans
- Diagnose and troubleshoot customer equipment, defining connections and integration points
- Support equipment installation efforts, individually and as part of a team
- Work overtime and be available for rotating on-call schedules, including nights and weekends
- Maintain all inventory and tools in accordance with company policies and procedures
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Pass drug and background checks
- Fully capable of reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Capable of calculating capacity, division size, and understanding tolerances for calibrations
- Able to read digital and analog indicated meters and weighing devices
- Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical theory
- Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical devices
- Experience with new equipment installations
- Experienced with primary modes of digital communication, data management, and documentation tools (MS Office, ERP & CRM systems, work order and service dispatch systems)
- Able to operate fork truck
- Maintain valid driver's license
Qualifications
- High School diploma required; Associates or higher degree in electronics, industrial maintenance, or related field work or experience is preferred
- Experience in the weighing or metrology industry is preferred. Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical devices is essential. Experience with new equipment installations is required.
