About This Role

Realm is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with expertise in Rust to build a modern search platform focused on search infrastructure and distributed systems. This role involves working on full-text, inverted index, vector, and hybrid search infrastructure while building core components in Rust.

Responsibilities

• Design and build full-text and inverted index search systems
• Develop vector and hybrid search infrastructure
• Address distributed search system challenges and performance bottlenecks at scale
• Build core components using Rust

Requirements

• Strong experience in search infrastructure, query execution, and indexing pipelines
• Proficiency in distributed systems with focus on latency and throughput
• Experience with systems work emphasizing correctness and performance
• Expertise in Rust programming language

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in search infrastructure, query execution, indexing pipelines, distributed systems where latency and throughput matter, and systems work where correctness and performance are first-class constraints.
