Senior Systems Engineer

About This Role

Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability for a global manufacturer of complex aircraft engine components. This role involves managing various systems, providing technical expertise, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deploy IT systems including servers, virtualization platforms, and cloud services
• Configure and maintain Windows/Linux operating systems and enterprise applications
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
• Manage storage, backup, and recovery solutions
• Implement security best practices, patch management, and vulnerability remediation
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards (e.g., AS9100, CMMC, NIST)
• Develop scripts and implement automation tools to streamline system administration tasks
• Optimize resource utilization and cost efficiency across IT environments
• Provide Tier 3 support for escalated technical issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve infrastructure-related problems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in system engineering or IT infrastructure roles
• Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future
• Able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in Windows Server and Linux administration
• Proficiency in Virtualization technologies (VMware & Hyper-V)
• Proficiency in Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Familiarity with Palo Alto Panorama
• Familiarity with ServiceNow
• Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards
