This Senior Structural Engineer role involves leading structural analysis and design for mission-critical facilities, ensuring high-performance, resiliency, and reliability. The ideal candidate will deliver complete structural design packages, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the structural analysis and design of mission critical facilities using steel, concrete, and hybrid structural systems
- Perform gravity, lateral, seismic, and blast-resistant design calculations
- Ensure all work meets relevant building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC)
- Review, sign, and seal engineering documents as required
- Oversee structural deliverables through all project phases, from schematic to construction documents
- Coordinate closely with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers
- Conduct site visits, structural observations, and respond to field issues
- Present structural concepts and technical decisions to clients and internal stakeholders
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, scope development, and resource allocation
- Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and growth
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in structural engineering
- Strong knowledge of steel and concrete design
- Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000)
- Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis)
- Experience preparing engineering drawings, details, and specifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis)
- 7+ years of experience in structural engineering
Nice to Have
- Experience in mission critical, industrial, or large-scale commercial facilities
- Familiarity with blast design, progressive collapse, vibration analysis, or similar specialties
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering
- Background working with cross-disciplinary and global teams
