Senior Structural Engineer - Mission Critical

About This Role

This Senior Structural Engineer role involves leading structural analysis and design for mission-critical facilities, ensuring high-performance, resiliency, and reliability. The ideal candidate will deliver complete structural design packages, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural analysis and design of mission critical facilities using steel, concrete, and hybrid structural systems
• Perform gravity, lateral, seismic, and blast-resistant design calculations
• Ensure all work meets relevant building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC)
• Review, sign, and seal engineering documents as required
• Oversee structural deliverables through all project phases, from schematic to construction documents
• Coordinate closely with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers
• Conduct site visits, structural observations, and respond to field issues
• Present structural concepts and technical decisions to clients and internal stakeholders
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, scope development, and resource allocation
• Mentor and support junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and growth

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in structural engineering
• Strong knowledge of steel and concrete design
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAP2000)
• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis)
• Experience preparing engineering drawings, details, and specifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis)
• 7+ years of experience in structural engineering

Nice to Have

• Experience in mission critical, industrial, or large-scale commercial facilities
• Familiarity with blast design, progressive collapse, vibration analysis, or similar specialties
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering
• Background working with cross-disciplinary and global teams
