Senior Restoration Architect/Engineer

About This Role

This role is for a Senior Restoration Architect or Engineer to lead and manage various restoration and preservation projects across New York City. The position focuses on façade rehabilitation, historic preservation, and building envelope restoration, with significant responsibility for major NYC projects and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage restoration, preservation, and façade rehabilitation projects throughout NYC
• Conduct façade inspections, including FISP/LL11 investigations and reporting
• Oversee project documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
• Perform site assessments, field investigations, and construction administration
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior architects/engineers
• Ensure compliance with NYC codes, FISP requirements, and preservation standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA)
• 7+ years of experience working on restoration projects across NYC
• Strong background in façade restoration, building envelope systems, and historic preservation
• Experience with FISP/LL11 inspections and reporting
• Excellent communication, technical writing, and project management skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering
• 7+ years of experience working on restoration projects across NYC

Nice to Have

• QEWI and/or QPSI certification
• Experience with historic landmarked buildings
• Familiarity with NYC DOB processes and restoration best practices
