Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About This Role

Lead geotechnical projects from proposal to delivery for a growing engineering firm. Contribute to business development, mentor junior staff, and shape company processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage geotechnical projects independently, from proposal to delivery.
• Prepare clear, concise technical reports and proposals.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships; attend meetings and site visits.
• Review and interpret geotechnical data; ensure compliance with standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
• Assist with business development, leveraging contacts and identifying opportunities.
• Participate in occasional travel for client engagement and project kick-offs.

Requirements

• Maryland PE license (or ability to transfer quickly)
• 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
• Strong technical writing and communication skills
• Experience with shallow foundations, piles, slope stability, and government projects
• U.S. work authorization

Qualifications

• 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.

Nice to Have

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering
• Experience with instrumentation and installation
• Business development experience and client relationships in Virginia
• Familiarity with MDOT, VDOT, MDTA, and state highway projects
