Senior Roadway Design Engineer

About This Role

This role involves roadway design for KYTC and Local Public Agency clients, including creating and reviewing project design calculations, plans, and contract documents. The successful candidate will apply KYTC design manual and AASHTO principles to highway design, utilizing roadway design CADD software.

Responsibilities

• Perform roadway design for KYTC and Local Public Agency (LPA) clients
• Create and review project design calculations, quantity takeoffs, specifications, plans and contract documents
• Work within the Transportation Team
• Adhere to project schedules and budgets
• Apply KYTC design manual and AASHTO principles to highway design
• Utilize roadway design CADD software
• Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
• Provide task management and adherence to deadlines and scope

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in roadway design
• Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of KYTC design manual and AASHTO principles
• Proficiency with roadway design CADD software
• Driver's License
