Senior Manager – Insider Risk Detection Oversight

About This Role

This role is a senior individual contributor position responsible for the governance, oversight, and program management of insider risk detection controls within a financial institution. This includes managing internal fraud against the firm and its customers, ensuring detection methods are effective, and coordinating execution across various departments.

Responsibilities

• Govern, oversee effectiveness, and manage programs for insider risk detection controls against internal fraud
• Ensure insider detections are analytically sound, well-governed, and operating within risk appetite
• Coordinate end-to-end execution across analytics, investigations, technology, HR, Legal, and Compliance
• Engage in hands-on data analysis and rule or model development for complex insider threat scenarios
• Provide technical leadership and consulting on technology controls and information security
• Foresee issues and gaps, and identify emerging industry trends in IT security
• Provide recommendations for value-added improvements and enhancements to controls

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Strong data and analytics fluency
• Working knowledge of detection methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to oversee detection programs end-to-end
• Solid understanding of data governance, model risk concepts, and responsible data use
• Ability to operate independently as a senior IC, balancing analytical depth, program discipline, and cross-functional coordination

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 10+ years of relevant experience in insider risk, financial crimes, fraud, or analytics-driven risk detection programs within a regulated environment.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency with analytics tools
• Familiarity with Python, data visualization, or graph/network analysis
