About This Role

Lead all Technical Operations activities within a hub station for United Airlines, ensuring the highest levels of safety, operational performance, and regulatory compliance. The role involves managing maintenance operations, budgetary compliance, and leading a team of maintenance personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Execute departmental strategy and business plan through direct leadership of station maintenance personnel
  • Shared responsibility for budgetary compliance and cost control within the station
  • Provide leadership and direction to maintenance organization including labor workforce to maximize productivity and output
  • Build and reinforce a fair and respectful work environment through consistent application of CBA work rules and company policies
  • Execute station performance goals and objectives aligning with divisional and company goals
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of operational, financial, compliance, safety and human resource related performance objectives
  • Ensure safety and security of aircraft and operations
  • Interface with regulatory authorities and local governments to ensure regulatory compliance of technical operations activities
  • Report status of operations, highlighting significant events to MD whilst providing direction to assigned station personnel
  • Identify key issues needing to be addressed and assign projects where applicable

Requirements

  • 8 years in the aircraft maintenance industry with a minimum 3 years in management involving a leadership role
  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft maintenance operations and applicable FAA regulations
  • FAA A&P Certificate
  • International vendor, contract and regulatory experience (for International region leadership)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field, or comparable experience
  • 8 years in the aircraft maintenance industry with a minimum 3 years in management involving a leadership role

Nice to Have

  • 2 years in a leadership role within a large maintenance organization including a unionized labor workforce
  • A proven successful track record
  • Strong background and technical knowledge on fleet types operated and maintenance programs
  • Strong cultural awareness to build and maintain professional relationships on a global basis
