This role involves troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining Public Safety Systems (PSS) equipment and assets to ensure the operational availability of PSS and Emergency Management (EM) systems for the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC). The successful candidate will collaborate with Navy clients to protect mission-critical assets and personnel from various incidents.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various products and equipment, such as alarm systems, naval munitions, public address systems, cameras, intrusion detection systems, emergency operation centers, regional dispatch centers, security gates, wide-area alert systems, and indoor voice communication
- Provide support for regional and emergency operation centers as required
- Provide training to employees on system operation and maintenance
- Diagnose, analyze, and repair product failures, coordinating ordering and replacement of parts
- Assess customer needs to recommend appropriate products or services
- Apply experience and judgment to plan tasks and achieve objectives
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and corrective measures accurately
- Implement safety, security, and compliance protocols in commercial, military, or governmental settings
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 8 years of relevant professional experience
- Ability to obtain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
- 4+ years of practical experience in system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs within field operations
- 2+ years of autonomous work experience, demonstrating the ability to make technical decisions with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with industry-standard concepts, practices, and procedures for diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals
- Willingness and ability to travel locally and long distance as needed (up to 10%)
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- 8 years of relevant professional experience, with a minimum of four years in system diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs within field operations and at least two years of autonomous work experience.

- Experience with Access Controlled Gates (vehicle and pedestrian)
- Experience with CCTV and Video Surveillance Systems
- Experience with Electronic Security Systems (ESS) or Access Control Platforms
- Experience with Card Readers and Access Control Logic
- Experience with Vehicle Barriers and Bollards (hydraulic and electromechanical)
- Experience with Mass Notification / Emergency Alert Systems
- Experience with Alarms, Intrusion Detection Systems, and Sensor Networks
- Experience with Emergency Operations Centers (EOC) or Dispatch Centers
- General electronics troubleshooting, maintenance and repair skills
- Aircraft maintenance or support systems experience
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
- Networking experience
