Experienced Construction Safety Representative

About This Role

Serve as the Construction Site Safety and Health Officer, responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the site safety program for construction and testing activities. Oversee all major work operations, ensuring safety for prime and subcontract personnel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with 29 CFR 1926.16 requirements for the project
• Be present at the site of work and oversee all major work operations during the shift
• Support implementation of Serco’s Safety and Health program and the project-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
• Be familiar with safety requirements in EM 385-1-1 and have experience in hazard identification and safety compliance
• Maintain applicable safety reference material at the site, including Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and APP
• Conduct daily Safety and Health inspections in accordance with EM 385-1-1
• Report and investigate all accidents and near misses, completing required documentation
• Track safety and health incidents according to project and corporate requirements
• Attend pre-construction conferences, tail-gate meetings, and pre-work meetings
• Generate and deliver safety-related artifacts for the project, such as daily/weekly/monthly reports
• Conduct on-going evaluations of the APP and submit changes for review and approval by the Government
• Ensure all project personnel comply with Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) requirements
• Provide and record site safety orientation and indoctrination training for all project personnel
• Review and sign mandatory ENG Form 6282 (SSHO Designation Letter)
• Ensure visitors are properly escorted, protected, and receive a safety brief on hazards and SOH controls
• Act as SSHO when Sr SSHO is on R&R or off site

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 3 years of experience with safety requirements stated in EM 385-1-1
• Minimum 3 years of experience in hazard identification and safety compliance
• Minimum 3 years of Project Management experience
• Minimum 3 years of Quality Control experience
• Valid U.S Passport (more than 6 months from expiration date)
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to travel 75%+ during the year

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 3 years of experience with safety requirements stated in EM 385-1-1, hazard identification, safety compliance, Project Management, and Quality Control

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working at Pituffik Space Base or other overseas remote locations for USACE
