Senior Director Engineering

About This Role

Lead and manage the comprehensive statewide Transportation practice at GAI Consultants, focusing on strategic business development, project management oversight, and client leadership for complex roadway design projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement business development strategies for winning specific project opportunities
• Oversee the development of engineering plans by a team of engineers
• Monitor financial performance of projects
• Act as GAI’s client leadership representative
• Perform advisory or consulting work across broad project areas or specialized innovative areas
• Assess practices and requirements for sustainable performance of complex engineering projects
• Oversee multiple large or multidiscipline project teams
• Develop organizational strategy for staff development through mentored experience, continuing education, and self-development
• Negotiate critical and controversial issues with leadership
• Represent the organization at important functions and conferences

Requirements

• 20+ years of Project Management experience on complex roadway design projects
• Knowledge and experience with FDOT D5, Florida’s Turnpike, and CFX
• PE Registration in Florida
• Strategic skills to identify and develop marketing strategy

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. Engineering, Master's Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred
• 20+ years of Project Management on complex roadway design projects for FDOT and other local agencies across Florida
